Closely related to the blueberries, this compact and hardy shrub is as decorative as it is productive. Its rich green foliage has a soft lustre, and in summer, small white bell-shaped flowers appear along the stems. Bright red berries soon start to develop as the flowers fade and these remain attractive for several months, ripening slowly before being ready to harvest.
