Grass species that are generally included browntop bent, crested dogstail, meadow fescue, red fescue, smooth stalked meadow grass and yorkshire fog Sowing Sowing can take place throughout most of the year, providing a good months of March/April and August/September are generally the most suitable. Sowing rate 5g per square metre Cutting height For a new meadow when sward reaches 15cm (6in) high, cut for the first time back to 5cm (2in), removing all the cuttings. First year first cut in May and then every 2 months or when the sward reaches 15cm (6in) back to 5cm (2in), removing all the cuttings. Future years First cut in March/April to 7.5cm (3in) with a second cut to 7.5cm (3in) in August/October removing all the cuttings after each cut.
