Come midsummer, inconspicuous yet intriguing brown horn-like flowers emerge, reaching up to 7cm (3") just below the tips of the leaf-like flower stems. Care guide

Reliable in wet or very moist, ‘boggy’ fertile soils, this acorus can be planted in aquatic baskets (to reduce root disturbance) in shallow water up to 22cm (9"). Divide congested clumps in early spring every few years. Wearing gloves, comb through old or damaged foliage in late winter to tidy if necessary.
