With its compact, tufted demeanour, this marginal aquatic perennial is ideal for the borders of pools or the charm of a bog garden where its bright green leaves intricately striped in white and cream create a visually engaging spectacle. Care guide

Reliable in wet or very moist, ‘boggy’ fertile soils, this acorus can be planted in aquatic baskets (to reduce root disturbance) in shallow water up to 22cm (9"). Divide congested clumps in early spring every few years. Wearing gloves, comb through old or damaged foliage in late winter to tidy if necessary.
