A low maintenance grass with vibrant green foliage.

Commended by gardeners for its beautiful foliage and hardy shrub nature, Carex oshimensis 'Everest' is characterised by its triangular stems that develop green linear leaves, which are complemented by their luminous-white margins. The accompaniment of both these white and green shades results in a striped pattern, which will add character to the darker areas of your garden. Wonderfully low maintenance, Everest will look beautiful positioned in the flower borders and beds of an informal garden, or planted in a container adorning a patio in need of some interesting greenery.

Care guide

Carex is an evergreen grass that is low maintenance, it grows best in full sun or partial shade. To prune, remove dead leaves and old flowers. It is a fairly hardy shrub and thrives in north, south, east and west facing aspects. Place in moist, well draining soil.

How your order will arrive

Pots and Packaging
Larger pots (2L and above) are wrapped in waxed paper and then attached to a cardboard base so they stay stable in the box. The waxed paper prevents the compost from spilling out and gives the base some added protection from damp compost. For large numbers of plants, pallets may be used for shipping.

Preparation
The nursery will ensure the plant is moist while it's waiting to be picked up. Our quality control team waters the plant before packing them where necessary to make sure that the plant is suitably watered for transport. Plants with long delicate stems are secured with canes to prevent damage.

Typically plants are delivered ready to plant and will take some time to settle, grow and look more like the product image above.
