Overview

Masses of small, deep mauve-blue flowers that fade to light blue are produced from July to September. This semi-herbaceous clematis is a non-clinging variety so is perfect for scrambling through shrubs in the border. It's a small clematis and is ideal for growing in pots on the patio where it can grow up small supports, such as an obelisk.

Care guide

In early spring cut back the previous year's stems to a pair of strong buds about 15-20cm (6-8in) above ground level and apply a slow-release balanced fertiliser and a mulch of well-rotted garden compost around the plant, avoiding the immediate crown.

Pots and Packaging
Larger pots (2L and above) are wrapped in waxed paper and then attached to a cardboard base so they stay stable in the box. The waxed paper prevents the compost from spilling out and gives the base some added protection from damp compost. For large numbers of plants, pallets may be used for shipping.

Preparation
The nursery will ensure the plant is moist while it's waiting to be picked up. Our quality control team waters the plant before packing them where necessary to make sure that the plant is suitably watered for transport. Plants with long delicate stems are secured with canes to prevent damage.
