Overview

A tough and versatile semi-evergreen plant with dark green leaves, which have variations of creamy-white or creamy-yellow margins that become tinted with pink as they age. In summer it produces clusters of tiny, green flowers and these are followed by rounded white fruit. Perfect filler for difficult spots, it is tolerant of shade, salt-laden air and drought once established. The colourful foliage will illuminate a dark corner, and it associates really well with white flowering plants.

Care guide

Tip prune young plants in mid to late spring to encourage bushy growth and apply a generous 5-7cm (2-3in) mulch of well-rotted garden compost or manure around the base of the plant. Remove any plain green-leaved shoots as soon as they appear, cutting them back to their origin.

Pots and Packaging
Larger pots (2L and above) are wrapped in waxed paper and then attached to a cardboard base so they stay stable in the box. The waxed paper prevents the compost from spilling out and gives the base some added protection from damp compost. For large numbers of plants, pallets may be used for shipping.

Preparation
The nursery will ensure the plant is moist while it's waiting to be picked up. Our quality control team waters the plant before packing them where necessary to make sure that the plant is suitably watered for transport. Plants with long delicate stems are secured with canes to prevent damage.
