Masses of violet-blue daisies light up the garden over a long summer season and beyond, each bloom set off with a bright yellow eye that really pops in the sunshine.
Naturally forming a neat, bushy mound, Brachyscome ‘Brasco Violet’ is a compact half-hardy perennial often grown as an annual, perfect for filling patio pots, window boxes and the front of sunny borders. Its finely textured green foliage creates a soft cushion, quickly studded with cheerful, daisy-shaped flowers from June to September for a long-lasting display.
Pot up and grow on under glass until all risk of frost has passed and they can then either be planted outside into a well-prepared bed, or used to fill decorative pots and hanging baskets for the patio.
Pinch out the growing tips to encourage bushier growth and apply a deep, dry mulch around the base of the plant in autumn if planted in open ground and protect with cloches or plant protection fleece if hard frost is forecast.
If top growth is damaged by the cold, the plants often re-grow from the base in spring. While a perennial, this Brachyscome is often grown as an annual.
