Overview

Cheerful spires of yellow, pea-like flowers, each with a darker standard, appear from June to July above dense clumps of mid-green leaves. This popular cottage garden perennial is perfect for the middle of a sunny border. To encourage a second flush of flowers in September and prevent the plant from looking scruffy, deadhead after the first flowers have faded.

Stake with bamboo canes in spring before the flowers appear and deadhead the faded blooms to encourage a second flush of flowers. Avoid excessive winter wet.

Please note: This perennial dies back to below ground level each year in autumn, then fresh new growth appears again in spring. This plant is toxic to pets and harmful to humans if eaten.

How your order will arrive

Pots and Packaging
Our 9cm pots are given extra packaging to protect the plant. This extra packaging consists of a recyclable plastic blister pack which is then placed in a cardboard box for delivery.

Preparation
The nursery will ensure the plant is moist while it's waiting to be picked up. Our quality control team waters the plant before packing them where necessary to make sure that the plant is suitably watered for transport. Plants with long delicate stems are secured with canes to prevent damage.

Typically plants are delivered ready to plant and will take some time to settle, grow and look more like the product image above.
