Overview

Great for adding height. Spires of deepest blue and pale, moonlit white, emerge above a verdant cushion of mid-green foliage. 'Sea of Butterflies' attracts insects and gardeners alike attracts insects and gardeners alike with blooms lasting from summer until the first frosts. Either mass plant at the front of borders or pop into pots and containers for a long-lasting summer bedding display. Grown individually in cell trays, each plant measures about 4 - 6cm tall (from the base of the root to the top of the plant). They are ideal for keen gardeners who have a greenhouse where the plants can be grown on until they are ready for planting out in the garden once all chance of frost has passed. Please note: We grow these especially for you, so we do request that full payment is made when you place your order. See above for despatch dates. To ensure that your plants arrive in the best possible condition each pack will be despatched individually.

Care guide

Pot up and grow on until all risk of frost has passed and they can be planted outside. Pinch out the growing tips to encourage bushier growth and keep well watered. Feed with a good, high potash fertiliser (such as Tomorite) on a regular basis and pinch off the spent flowerspikes to encourage more to form.

How your order will arrive

Pots and Packaging
Small plugs are arranged in a plastic tray in a cardboard box. Foam is used to secure the plugs from the bottom and the top.

Preparation
The nursery will ensure the plant is moist while it's waiting to be picked up. Our quality control team waters the plant before packing them where necessary to make sure that the plant is suitably watered for transport. Plants with long delicate stems are secured with canes to prevent damage.

Typically plants are delivered ready to plant and will take some time to settle, grow and look more like the product image above.
