Overview

A stylish, summer flowering perennial. Elegant and stylish, while being adaptable and easy to grow, it's not suprising that this stunning perennial is one of Piet Oudolph's favourites. It forms an attractive clump of feathery foliage, from which the slender, branching stems rise up in summer, each topped with a claret-red flower spike. Not only do these add colour and structural interest, but as they catch the breeze, they also add movement. They look right at home in both mixed or herbaceous borders, and they are also ideal for more naturalised settings including gravel or prairie-style settings.

Pots and Packaging
Our 9cm pots are given extra packaging to protect the plant. This extra packaging consists of a recyclable plastic blister pack which is then placed in a cardboard box for delivery.

Preparation
The nursery will ensure the plant is moist while it's waiting to be picked up. Our quality control team waters the plant before packing them where necessary to make sure that the plant is suitably watered for transport. Plants with long delicate stems are secured with canes to prevent damage.

Typically plants are delivered ready to plant and will take some time to settle, grow and look more like the product image above.
