Care guide

When planting, incorporate lots of well-rotted garden compost in the planting hole and firm gently around the rootball before watering well. Water during dry spells in the first year, until established. If growing in containers, additional watering will be necessary. Prune or clip to shape in summer. Mature plants can tolerate hard pruning in spring, cutting back to the old wood. Apply a generous layer of mulch around the base of the plant (avoiding the immediate crown) in late winter.
