How do you take care of cucumber plants?

Cucumbers don’t require much care to grow quickly – keeping your cucumber plants watered will help to establish them in the first instance, and from there they can be fed with a high nitrogen feed once a fortnight. A key consideration is keeping garden pests away from your cucumber plant – try straw mulch to keep the cucumbers clean and pests at bay.

Do you need to support cucumber plants?

Yes, cucumber plants will grow upwards so providing them with the proper support will be important for healthy growth. Provide a sturdy support mechanism such as a trellis that you can tie the cucumber plant to as it grows using wire or string.

How long do cucumber plants produce fruit?

Cucumber plants have a harvest season of around three weeks during which they’re capable of producing between 10 to 15 cucumbers each.
