Overview

Pendent clusters of fragrant, pure white, pea-like flowers in May and June followed in hot summers by velvety green seed-pods. This classic white Chinese wisteria looks wonderful trained as a small weeping tree. Renowned for its superior fragrance, it's an ideal, fast- growing climber for covering a sheltered, sunny wall or strong pergola. This plant has been vegetatively propagated, so will flower earlier than those grown from seed.

Care guide

After planting prune back the leading shoot to 90cm (36in) above the ground. In the first growing season tie in lateral shoots and cut back sub-lateral shoots to two or three buds. During the first winter cut back laterals by one third and sub-laterals by two or three buds

Pots and Packaging
Larger pots (2L and above) are wrapped in waxed paper and then attached to a cardboard base so they stay stable in the box. The waxed paper prevents the compost from spilling out and gives the base some added protection from damp compost. For large numbers of plants, pallets may be used for shipping.

Preparation
The nursery will ensure the plant is moist while it's waiting to be picked up. Our quality control team waters the plant before packing them where necessary to make sure that the plant is suitably watered for transport. Plants with long delicate stems are secured with canes to prevent damage.
