Overview

Rootgrow™ 360g with Gel contains mycorrhizal fungi which naturally increase nutrient and water uptake by forming a highly efficient secondary root system. It is completely natural and plant-friendly fungi suitable for use on flowering plants, trees, shrubs and edibles.

Specifications

Follow these simple steps to planting success with Rootgrow™

  • 1.Dig planting hole as normal.
  • 2.Take a large bucket and fill with 4L of water.
  • 3.Sprinkle the contents of the gel powder sachet into the water and stir well.
  • 4.Leave for 5 minutes then add the dry rootgrow granules and stir well. (the granules should be suspended evenly throughout the thick liquid)
  • 5.Dip the plant roots into the solution ensuring even coverage.
  • 6.Lift the plants out and allow the excess to drain back in to the bucket and plant immediately
  • 7. Plant tree in hole and backfill as normal with compost/soil.
  • 8. If using additional fertiliser add as a top dress or in backfill.
  • 9. Add mulch or top dress as required.

Advice on hot and droopy plants

If your plants are looking a little wilted right now, don't worry! Plants like to be filled with water to keep their structure, and when it's hot that water evaporates.

Just give them an off-schedule watering and they'll be right as rain in no time! Be careful not to flood them - plants don't like extremes.

How Does It Work?

Once joined with the plant this fungi will travel through the soil creating a truly massive root system. This 'hybrid' root system is highly efficient at finding nutrients from places where a plant's root cannot travel, releasing soil bound chemicals, including those from our trusted fertilisers, and transporting these back to its partner, a beneficial relationship that will persist throughout the life of the plant. A healthy plant with an established root system in a functional soil needs less intervention, chemical or physical.

How your order will arrive

Pots and Packaging
Bare root plants are either wrapped in plastic bags or waxed paper where possible and then placed into a cardboard box.

Preparation
The nursery will ensure the plant is moist while it's waiting to be picked up. Our quality control team waters the plant before packing them where necessary to make sure that the plant is suitably watered for transport. Plants with long delicate stems are secured with canes to prevent damage.

Typically plants are delivered ready to plant and will take some time to settle, grow and look more like the product image above.
