rootgrow™ has become a planting essential for professional and amateur gardeners alike who want to ensure that their plants get off to the best start possible.

The Empathy brand allows you to garden more naturally without the use of hard chemicals.

Empathy is the most ecologically sensitive gardening range on the market and many of their products are endorsed by the RHS. A UK based company, they manufacture all of their products at the Kent Science Park which is a spin off from The International Institute of Biotechnology. Empathy maintains a core group of scientists who are continually developing their range of products.

Empathy rootgrow™ contains a unique blend of remarkable fungi which literally works with your treated plant for their entire lifetime.

When applied rootgrow™ builds a secondary root system in the soil that is able to supply essential nutrients that plants find hard to access, in turn promoting;

  • Greater Top Growth
  • Improve Flowering & Fruiting
  • All round plant health

The fungal melium will also access more water for the plant providing drought tolerance during dry spells. Unlike any other root grow product, once applied the rootgrow™ will establish a relationship that will support the treated plant for its entire lifetime.

Planting requirements

How many plants will Rootgrow™ treat?
  • 9 cm pot: 1 tsp or 5g
  • 2-3 litre pot: 1 scoop or 25g
  • 4-5 litre rose: 2 scoops or 50g
  • 15 litre tree: 3 scoops

Features

What is Mycorrhizal Fungi

Almost 80% of plants live in a symbiotic relationship with a remarkable organism called Mycorrhizal Fungi, through this symbiosis the fungi and the plant naturally develop a life long bond of mutual benefit that has existed for over 450 million years.

First the spores of mycorrhizal germinate in the soil and make their way to the nearest roots, the roots are then colonised by the fungi and mycorrhiza are established. The fungi penetrates the roots and create an internal network of fungal structures inside the root cells where the plant and mycorrhizae exchange sugars and nutrients. Finally the hyphae continue to develop outside the roots forming an extended network of fine filaments which cover up to 700 times more soil area than the plants own roots. This secondary root system draws in extra beneficial nutrients and water, supporting a plant or tree for its entire life.

Installation

How To Use

rootgrow™ is supplied in a recyclable pouch with a zip seal (360g only) to allow the product to be sealed and stored when not required.

  • Open the top of the pouch and taking the scoop included sprinkle the granules over the base of the planting hole to roughly match the area of your new plants pot base. One or two scoops per plant is usually enough. No need to mix in with the soil.
  • Plant directly onto the granules ensuring direct contact with the plant roots. This is important to help the Mycorrhizal fungi propagules colonise plant roots.
  • Back fill the planting hole as usual and water well.

If using additional fertiliser add as a top dress or in backfill and add mulch or top dress as required .
