Overview

Rich flower colour and good scent too! 'Devon Arctic Star' from the Early Bird Series, is a compact, evergreen perennial with narrow grey-green leaves. Masses of fragrant, pure white double flowers with ragged edges are borne on short stems from mid-spring to summer. A firm favourite for cottage gardens, it will also flourish happily on the patio.

Care guide

Prefers soil enriched with well-rotted manure or garden compost and an application of a balanced fertiliser in spring. Dianthus should be trimmed back lightly after flowering to promote new basal growth. Prune more closely in spring, as new shoots emerge to maintain a tidy shape.

Pots and Packaging
Our 9cm pots are given extra packaging to protect the plant. This extra packaging consists of a recyclable plastic blister pack which is then placed in a cardboard box for delivery.

Preparation
The nursery will ensure the plant is moist while it's waiting to be picked up. Our quality control team waters the plant before packing them where necessary to make sure that the plant is suitably watered for transport. Plants with long delicate stems are secured with canes to prevent damage.
