Overview

A graceful, hazy plant with airy spikes of bright pink, star-shaped flowers with long anthers like daddy long-legs, held high above the foliage on slender stems from May to September. This long-flowering perennial looks equally at home in an informal cottage-style garden or among soft grasses in a new perennial border. 'Siskiyou Pink' is exceptionally drought-tolerant and will soak up the sun. Give it space, as its wispy stems will lean over.

Care guide

Resist the temptation to cut back gaura after it has flowered as it takes on beautiful autumn tints, particularly in cold weather. Lift and divide large colonies in spring. Please be aware that purplish-brown spotting can appear on gauras at certain times of the year and/or certain times in the plant's life cycle. This is not a disease but a physiological response to cold temperatures, and occurs when new growth has encountered unseasonably chilly conditions. It will not affect the plant's vigour or flowering potential and will often improve in warmer weather.

How your order will arrive

Pots and Packaging
Larger pots (2L and above) are wrapped in waxed paper and then attached to a cardboard base so they stay stable in the box. The waxed paper prevents the compost from spilling out and gives the base some added protection from damp compost. For large numbers of plants, pallets may be used for shipping.

Preparation
The nursery will ensure the plant is moist while it's waiting to be picked up. Our quality control team waters the plant before packing them where necessary to make sure that the plant is suitably watered for transport. Plants with long delicate stems are secured with canes to prevent damage.
