Where do lilacs grow best?

Lilac shrubs grow best in a sunny spot where they can get a minimum of six hours of direct sunlight per day. If your lilacs get too much shade, they are unlikely to bloom. Don't overwater your lilacs either - well-drained but moist soil is essential for them to grow properly.

Do lilacs come back every year?

Lilacs are perennial plants, so will bloom every year, providing you maintain yours properly. You must prune your lilac bush regularly to make sure the plant can grow back year after year. Their flowering period begins in the month of May.

Many of our lilacs are pruned already - up to four times before they are delivered - so you receive a well-balanced shape.

How quickly does a lilac bush grow?

Lilacs grow slowly, eventually reaching up to 2.5 to 4m in height and spread. They need to be regularly pruned so your lilac shrub doesn't get overgrown or misshapen, which can make it harder for it to bloom properly the next year.
