Overview

The most popular variety. An early cropping whitecurrant, which produces long, heavy trusses of pale yellow fruits. These appear early in the season, so are ready to pick in early July and have a pleasantly sweet flavour. It is a very reliable cropper, and will provide a good yield year after year. Because of its many good features, it has become one of the most popular varieties available.

Care guide

Prepare the ground well before planting. Remove all weeds and dig in plenty of well-rotted manure in to the area. Once planted, apply a mulch of well-rotted manure every spring, as well as a nitrogen and potassium fertiliser. Make sure the plant is watered in dry weather and net the bushes to protect the currants from birds. In the first year, prune back to one bud above soil level in winter. After that prune out weak branches only.

Pots and Packaging
Bare root plants are either wrapped in plastic bags or waxed paper where possible and then placed into a cardboard box.

Preparation
The nursery will ensure the plant is moist while it's waiting to be picked up. Our quality control team waters the plant before packing them where necessary to make sure that the plant is suitably watered for transport. Plants with long delicate stems are secured with canes to prevent damage.

Typically plants are delivered ready to plant and will take some time to settle, grow and look more like the product image above.
