This classic weeping birch is a delicate tree, tall and slender, with branches which cause a large spread, creating an umbrella of leaves. Separate male and female catkins open in spring, adding another dimension to this beautiful weeping birch, which has peeling white bark, reminiscent of the closely-related silver birch. This will thrive in almost any soil, even wet and poorly-drained soils, thanks to the hardy nature of this tree.
