Plant description

A cracking fern, which has only just become available here in the UK. Recently introduced to the UK, this Brazillian 'tree' fern does eventually form short stem as it matures. It's for the newly emerging bright red fronds that it is most sought after. These fronds are a good size, and they form a distinctive shuttlecock shape so it is quite architectural. As they mature the fronds turn bronze, then finally settle on a rich green colour as the season progresses.

Care guide

It will usually require some winter protection for the first few years. Incorporate lots of well-rotted leaf mould or garden compost into the planting hole. Keep well watered during the growing season.

How your order will arrive

Pots and Packaging
Our 9cm pots are given extra packaging to protect the plant. This extra packaging consists of a recyclable plastic blister pack which is then placed in a cardboard box for delivery.

Preparation
The nursery will ensure the plant is moist while it's waiting to be picked up. Our quality control team waters the plant before packing them where necessary to make sure that the plant is suitably watered for transport. Plants with long delicate stems are secured with canes to prevent damage.
