Plant description

A superb cream-coloured jasmine, with large flowers and a strong fragrance. This versatile, deciduous climber thrives in a sheltered, sunny, well-drained site, and can cope with dry conditions. A quick grower, 'Starry Starry Summer Scent' is ideal for covering a large south or west-facing wall or an unsightly garden building. Choose a spot close to a house entrance or well-used path to best appreciate the scented blooms. In small gardens, it's best planted in a pot and trained up a trellis or wall.

Care guide

Plant Jasminum in a warm, sunny and sheltered location which helps to bring out the sweet fragrance of the flowers. If the soil is well-drained, it will cope with partial shade and colder positions, though it may suffer from frost damage in colder winters. When planting, add some soil conditioner (well-rotted compost) to the planting hole and some mycorrhizal fungi to aid root establishment. Grow Jasminum against appropriate support such as trellis or wires attached to walls and fences. Tie the shoots into their support as they grow.

Pots and Packaging
Larger pots (2L and above) are wrapped in waxed paper and then attached to a cardboard base so they stay stable in the box. The waxed paper prevents the compost from spilling out and gives the base some added protection from damp compost. For large numbers of plants, pallets may be used for shipping.

Preparation
The nursery will ensure the plant is moist while it's waiting to be picked up. Our quality control team waters the plant before packing them where necessary to make sure that the plant is suitably watered for transport. Plants with long delicate stems are secured with canes to prevent damage.
