Choose a location with well-drained soil and partial shade to full sun. Prepare the planting hole twice the width of the root ball and at the same depth. After planting, water thoroughly and apply a layer of organic mulch to retain moisture and suppress weeds. For aftercare, water deeply and regularly during the first growing season to establish a strong root system. Feed in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertiliser. Pruning should be minimal, as this hydrangea blooms on old wood. If necessary, prune immediately after Flowering to shape or control size, removing no more than one-third of the oldest stems at ground level. In late winter, trim off any dead or damaged wood.
