Overview

A low growing tuberous perennial, which is much-loved for its large, black-eyed, violet-blue flowers, which appear in spring over mounds of finely dissected foliage. The velvet-like petals form large open bowls, and gradually open out even further before they fall to create saucer-like plates. Anemones make charming cut flowers and look lovely at the front of a sunny border.

Care guide

Feed with a balanced fertiliser, and remove flowers as they fade. Do not be tempted to cut back or tidy the foliage after flowering, as this will interfere with the bulbs' ability to store energy for the following year's flowers. After flowering, and while still in leaf, consider planting out out into the garden for an annual display each year.

Pots and Packaging
Our 9cm pots are given extra packaging to protect the plant. This extra packaging consists of a recyclable plastic blister pack which is then placed in a cardboard box for delivery.

Preparation
The nursery will ensure the plant is moist while it's waiting to be picked up. Our quality control team waters the plant before packing them where necessary to make sure that the plant is suitably watered for transport. Plants with long delicate stems are secured with canes to prevent damage.
