Overview

A virtually branchless, upright and columnar variety, 'Ballerina Flamenco' produces late-season dessert apples suitable for small spaces and large pots. The fruiting spurs spring directly off the main trunk on mini-stubs. A great idea for architectural plantings when used in rows, the spring blossom flowers are pretty, with a hint of pink across the white petals. The rosy red fruits are crisp, juicy and sweet but as this apple is not self-fertile, it will require a pollinating partner from group 3.

Care guide

Keep the base of the tree weed free, fertilise at the beginning of each year and water regularly during hot, dry spells. Little lateral pruning will be required but check for and remove any of the 3D's (dead, dying and diseased wood). Any minor formative pruning should be done in the summer.

Pots and Packaging
Bare root plants are either wrapped in plastic bags or waxed paper where possible and then placed into a cardboard box.

Preparation
The nursery will ensure the plant is moist while it's waiting to be picked up. Our quality control team waters the plant before packing them where necessary to make sure that the plant is suitably watered for transport. Plants with long delicate stems are secured with canes to prevent damage.
