Overview

Deep red to burgundy foliage with small, bristly red-purple flower spikes from July to September. This gorgeous ornamental grass looks great planted in a large clump where the flower spikes swaying in the breeze are a real eye catcher. For best results plant in a sunny spot in light moderately fertile, well-drained soil and shelter from extreme winter cold. Its highly recommended that this plant is bought in to a frost free place in winter.

Care guide

To halt the spread of the plant remove any unwanted self-sown seedlings as part of routine spring border maintenance. Deciduous in colder areas, it will need protection from winter cold and wet.

Pots and Packaging
Our 9cm pots are given extra packaging to protect the plant. This extra packaging consists of a recyclable plastic blister pack which is then placed in a cardboard box for delivery.

Preparation
The nursery will ensure the plant is moist while it's waiting to be picked up. Our quality control team waters the plant before packing them where necessary to make sure that the plant is suitably watered for transport. Plants with long delicate stems are secured with canes to prevent damage.

Typically plants are delivered ready to plant and will take some time to settle, grow and look more like the product image above.
