Overview

This evergreen fern is a native of Britain, and as such is one of the most versatile for our climate, being content in most soils, damp or dry. It has long, leathery, dark green fronds with a slight sheen, and an attractive, lacy appearance. Try growing it in walls, where there is little soil, or securing it into trees for a tropical effect. It also looks wonderful left to colonise in a woodland setting or under deciduous trees. If it is happy, it will spread almost indefinitely, but never becomes invasive.

This easy plant can also be grown epiphytically in bright filtered light. Wrap the rhizomes in moss and tie to a suitable rooting medium and keep moist until established. Shelter from cold, drying winds. Remove dead foliage in spring. HD

How your order will arrive

Pots and Packaging
Larger pots (2L and above) are wrapped in waxed paper and then attached to a cardboard base so they stay stable in the box. The waxed paper prevents the compost from spilling out and gives the base some added protection from damp compost. For large numbers of plants, pallets may be used for shipping.

Preparation
The nursery will ensure the plant is moist while it's waiting to be picked up. Our quality control team waters the plant before packing them where necessary to make sure that the plant is suitably watered for transport. Plants with long delicate stems are secured with canes to prevent damage.
