Overview

Pretty native perennial with violet-blue flowers. A native clump forming perennial that flowers throughout the summer. Long spikes of violet-blue flowers (however sometimes the flowers can be variable -either pink or white), are held on erect stems above large basal leaves from early summer. This deciduous wildflower is perfect for a wilder section of your garden, but will still look good in a cottage garden border, and is loved by bees.

Care guide

To prolong flowering, cut out spent flower spikes as soon as they start to fade, leaving foliage to mature into rich autumn tones. Apply a generous 5-7cm (2-3in) mulch of well-rotted garden compost or manure around the base of the plant in spring.

Pots and Packaging
Our 9cm pots are given extra packaging to protect the plant. This extra packaging consists of a recyclable plastic blister pack which is then placed in a cardboard box for delivery.

Preparation
The nursery will ensure the plant is moist while it's waiting to be picked up. Our quality control team waters the plant before packing them where necessary to make sure that the plant is suitably watered for transport. Plants with long delicate stems are secured with canes to prevent damage.

Typically plants are delivered ready to plant and will take some time to settle, grow and look more like the product image above.
