  • What size of shade sail do I need?

6m right angle triangle sail shades are one of our largest sizes. To find the right size for your outside area, firstly you need to decide on the location you're going to secure it over.

Make sure to avoid areas where it will increase in temperature like over a fire pit and where it won't get knocked by branches. You should examine your outside area during the time you expect to be outside in your garden the most and find out where the sun will be in the sky and how the UV rays or rain could reach you.

In your chosen area, you should note where you can attach your sail shade to give you the most coverage and how high this would be. Your shade sail will provide coverage around 12 inches from where you have attached it. Will you use one or more than one shade sail?

When you begin to factor in these considerations, you can decide what size sails you need. We also offer 5.4m square shade sails and 6m x 5m rectangle shade sails.

  • Can you attach a shade sail to your house?

Yes, you can – in fact, many shade sails are attached to houses and provide great cover for your outside seating area. You can secure your sail shade against metal and wood fences too. Just make sure you hang it at an angle to allow water to run off the side so that it doesn’t become too heavy, fall down, and perhaps cause damage to your structures.

  • What colour is best for shade sails?

While you can choose any colour you want to decorate your garden, if you're using it to protect against the sun, there are certain colours you should opt for. Dark coloured shades are the best option, specifically deep blue colours, which absorb more of the sun's rays than others.
