Fiberstone Planters FAQs

  • Are fiberstone planters durable?

Fiberstone planters are made up of fibres combined with traditional materials, such as clay and stone, making them extra durable. As a result, fiberstone is extremely strong, weather-resistant, and non-reactive to most cleaning products. However, for much larger plants you might consider fiberglass an option.
If you are looking for a more environmentally-friendly option, you may also want to consider using pure fiberglass, terracotta or wood planters.
  • What are fiberstone planters made of?

Fiberstone planters are made of a mixture of fiberglass and stone powder, giving them the look and feel of natural stone but with the added durability and lightweight benefits of fiberglass.
  • Are fiberstone planters suitable for outdoor use?

Yes, fiberstone planters are suitable for outdoor use. Due to its robust and rigid characteristics, it’s perfectly suitable for outdoor as well as indoor use. • How do you clean fiberstone?

Fibrestone can be cleaned using non-bleach detergent or some soap with water solution. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials to avoid any damage to the surface of the planter. For best results, clean the planter with a soft-bristled brush and wipe it with a clean cloth.
  • What’s the difference between fiberstone and fiberglass?

Despite both planters being made from a combination of materials, there are some significant differences.

    • Fiberstone contains a mixture of stone and as such is typically heavier, making it ideal for outdoor use.
    • Fiberglass is lighter - a lightweight, synthetic material - much easier to move around in the indoors or outdoors.
    • Both are durable and resilient to unfavourable weather conditions, however, they may be prone to chipping or cracking in extreme weather if not cared for properly.
    • Fiberstone has the look and feel of ceramic or stone planters, whereas fiberglass tends to have a smoother texture, giving it a more contemporary look.
