Overview

Wonderful electric blue foliage. A compact, evergreen, ornamental grass, with greenish, needle-like leaves, that turn silvery blue-green when it gets lots of sun. The foliage forms a dense hummock, which in summer is topped with short spikes of blue-green flowers that gradually fade to buff as they age. It looks great in a gravel garden, and can be paired with either blue and purple-flowering perennials, or with Mediterranean-style plants - just make sure it's planted in full sun for the best foliage colour!

Care guide

Comb through the plant with your fingers in winter to remove dead foliage. Container-grown specimens should be watered well when they are establishing. Plants need replacing every few years as they become tatty-looking.

How your order will arrive

Pots and Packaging
Our 9cm pots are given extra packaging to protect the plant. This extra packaging consists of a recyclable plastic blister pack which is then placed in a cardboard box for delivery.

Preparation
The nursery will ensure the plant is moist while it's waiting to be picked up. Our quality control team waters the plant before packing them where necessary to make sure that the plant is suitably watered for transport. Plants with long delicate stems are secured with canes to prevent damage.

Typically plants are delivered ready to plant and will take some time to settle, grow and look more like the product image above.
