Overview

Renowned for producing a stunning array of iris flowers in a spectrum of vibrant hues, Louisiana irises are a gardener's delight. These rhizomatous perennials, with their sword-shaped grey-green leaves, add elegance to various water features, including ponds, streams, and lakes, as well as bog gardens and perennial borders. Thriving in full sun and moist conditions, they burst into bloom in spring, showcasing a mesmerizing palette of colours ranging from whites, creams, and yellows to bronzes, pinks, purples, and blues. Their easy-going nature and ability to flourish in wetter areas make them a versatile and eye-catching addition to any garden landscape.

Care guide

While Iris louisiana tolerates a range of soil moistures, we are offering this plant in our aquatic soil mix in aquatic pots for planting at or below the water line. Plant in neutral to acidic soils or pond margins at a depth of 0-10cm (0-4in). Little maintenance is required - cut back flowering stalks after flowering. Do not allow to dry out.
