Battery Operated Fox Repeller with HyperResonance Frequency™ and BehaviourSpecific Timing™ By PestBye®
Rid your garden of foxes and other mammals with this garden repeller, complete with the new HyperResonance Frequency™ system and BehaviourSpecific Timing™. Designed to induce maximum discomfort, this system provides short varying bursts of ultrasound that shocks the animal, as opposed to other repellers that use a more gradual system. BehaviourSpecific Timing™ ensures that foxes cannot get used to the sound as there is no pattern, meaning that foxes will not grow accustomed to the repeller. Animals are detected using the integrated PIR motion sensor, which ensures it is not activated by rustling foliage alone. Complete with a placement stake, this repeller can be positioned to right where you need it most, at the perfect height to detect foxes on the ground.
This unit has been designed using our considerable experience to be as effective as possible in repelling foxes without the need of complicated dials. The unit covers such a wide variety of frequencies that adjustment dials are simply no longer needed, enabling us to provide you with the best, most user-friendly unit to date.
How does it work?
When a warm moving body is picked up by the PIR sensor, the repeller sends out a very loud noise at a frequency that foxes can hear. It is too high for most humans to hear and is both annoying and frightening to the foxes. It does not affect birds but is effective against dogs and cats.
Easy to use
Unlike some products on the market, the set-up for this simply involves adding batteries and pushing the stake gently into the ground at the desired location. Designed using components that match quality with cost effectiveness to create a product that's effective but simple to use. There is nothing to set up, no settings to tweak - it's just 'plug and play'!
Why the motion sensor?
The fox repeller incorporates a sophisticated PIR motion sensor which turns the device on when a warm body enters the controlled area. This has an important purpose other than saving battery life: researchers have found that foxes can become desensitised to the noise if they realise that random sounds are not associated directly with their presence in the controlled area. With the motion sensor, the fox learns to associate the noise with its own movement, and is much less likely to stop being afraid of the noise.
BehaviourSpecific Timing™
When a fox becomes startled by a nearby sound such as a repeller, it's instinct is to freeze in it's tracks and wait to see what happens next. If like most repellers on the market in which the sound activates at regular intervals, the fox can grow accustomed to the pattern and carry on with it's business. At PestBye we have developed this repeller to activate at random timing intervals which we call BehaviourSpecific Timing™. This makes it virtually impossible for the fox to become used to the pattern. This combined with our carefully designed HyperResonance Frequency™ which gives maximum resonance within the ear canal of foxes over the broad range of fox hearing sesitivities, provides an effective solution for problem foxes.
HRF - HyperResonance Frequency™
Foxes have a better sense of hearing than dogs. Their upper range sits between 60-65kHz, which enables them to hear kittens, mice, and this repeller! The ultrasonic sound wave emitted has been carefully engineered to ensure the sound covers a frequency range which provides maximum resonance within the ear canal of a variety of foxes with different levels of hearing.
- HRF™ is designed to jump between frequency levels, which provides a short sharp shock throughout a cat's full hearing range, ensuring maximum effectiveness.
- Other repellers in the market implement this gradual step approach, which is less shocking than HRF™ and tends to drain batteries easily.
- Others in the market use this fluctuating frequency approach, which is less shocking than HRF™ and allows the animal to be prepared for the higher frequencies as it gets closer to their hearing range.
What area does it cover?
It covers a 128 degree arc, to a distance of up to 32ft (10m).
How quickly will it work?
If the foxes have a habit of feeding and fouling in your garden, it can take 14-28 days to deliver the full deterrent effect. 'Occasional' visitors will usually be stopped within 7 days. Of course, as with all methods involving animal behaviour, we can't guarantee effectiveness in every situation, however, our own experience and the feedback we get from customers suggests that this device is effective in almost all situations.
If you have a dog or a cat, it may affect the animal if it's allowed in the same part of the garden. The sound doesn't travel well through walls and fences, so it won't affect pets in the house, or a neighbour's pet. If you need more advice on how to get the best out of the product, don't hesitate to give us a call.
Will it affect birds?
Not at all - you'll be able to welcome the birds back to your garden.
Please Note: Requires 3 AA batteries (not included).
