Care guide

The Corten steel planter will arrive in a natural grey metal colour. As Corten steel weathers naturally, it may produce a slight colour runoff, which could stain the surface your planters are placed on, particularly during the first six months.

Features

Corten steel planters should take between six and 12 months to fully develop their protective patina. However, the exact length of time it takes for your beautifully unique orange and brown hues to appear depends on a variety of factors, such as local climate and your exact planter placement. If you are particularly close to the coast, for example, sea spray and salty air could cause your planters to rust faster (which is why we recommend choosing sheltered locations for such instances, in addition to potentially hosing your planters down after strong coastal storms).Drainage holes as standard

Material details

We offer Corten steel cube planters made from certified, genuine Corten steel, also known as weathering steel or COR-TEN steel. The metal’s corrosion-resistant property is denoted by “COR”, while its tensile strength is indicated by “TEN”. We use 2 mm-thick, structural-grade steel as standard to produce our planters.
