Acrylic mirrors are a versatile and durable choice for both indoor and outdoor use. To achieve the best results and avoid potential issues, follow these guidelines:

Installation Considerations

  • Placement: Be mindful of where the mirror is installed. Acrylic mirrors reflect sunlight, and in rare cases, the concentrated rays can cause nearby items to burn. Avoid placing mirrors where this might pose a risk.
  • Flat Surface: Install the mirror on a completely flat surface to ensure a clear and accurate reflection, similar to glass. Uneven surfaces may cause warped or distorted reflections.
  • Drilling: Use a slow speed when drilling into acrylic mirrors to prevent cracking or damage.
  • Flexibility and Reflection Quality: Acrylic mirrors are flexible, so the quality of the reflection depends on the surface they are mounted on. For the best results, apply adhesive evenly and press the mirror firmly against a flat backing material. Keep in mind that due to their flexibility, the reflections may not be as crisp as those of rigid glass mirrors.
  • Adhesive: Use a special mirror adhesive when gluing acrylic mirrors. Using the wrong adhesive can leave unsightly marks on the reflective side.
  • Cleaning: Clean the mirror with a cloth and a solution of fresh water mixed with mild soap.
